Natoinal Substance Abuse Helpline

National Substance Abuse Helpline’s National Helpline is a free, confidential, 24/7, 365-day-a-year treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families facing mental and/or substance use disorders.

24-7 Prayer USA

24-7 Prayer is an international, interdenominational movement of prayer, mission and justice; a non-stop prayer meeting that has continued for every minute of this century so far, in over half the countries on Earth.

Saint Andrew’s Abbey

Saint Andrew’s Abbey is a spiritual home for retreatants and the monks who dedicate their lives to work and prayer here.

Saint Joseph Center

Provides working poor families, as well as homeless men, women, and children of all ages with the inner resources and tools to become productive, stable and self-supporting members of the community. Resources include; housing, mental health care, health care, employment resources, assistance in obtaining government aid if applicable, meals, food pantry, street outreach and short + long-term clinical needs.

Venice Family Clinic

Provides quality primary healthcare to those in need. Appointments made by phone if needed. Services offered: health care, dental, vision, psychiatry, counseling, substance use treatment, pharmacy services, HIV services and health education.

People’s Concern

Provides outreach/engagement, housing, mental health care, medical care, substance abuse services, domestic violence shelter, wellness & life skills programs, income assistance and at-risk youth shelter.

DivorceCare

DivorceCare’s life-changing support groups welcome people and guide them on the path of recovery after separation or divorce.

The Bible Project

BibleProject is a nonprofit, crowdfunded organization that produces 100% free Bible videos, podcasts, blogs, classes, and educational Bible resources to help make the biblical story accessible to everyone everywhere.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate recovery is a biblically balanced approach to help bring sustainable recovery and healing to our hurts. It guides us toward new healthy truths and life-giving habits as we repair our broken relationships. National Suicide Prevention Hotline

The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals in the United States.

Safe Place for Youth

Provides critical resources and empowers young people to take control of their lives, supported by trauma-informed care, harm reduction and positive youth development.

Chrysalis

Job search training, employment assistance, resume help, interview preparation, fax/internet services and computer classes.

Salvation Army Santa Monica

Provides food assistance, youth programs, ministry, referrals (emergency housing, assisted living, centers for rehabilitation), rental assistance, utility assistance, Vacation Bible School, food & hygiene assistance, clothing/shoes, transportation assistance, life skills support and furniture for newly housed individuals.

Daniel’s Place Drop in Center

“Assists individuals aged 18-28 who are experiencing a mental health need and who may or may not be experiencing homelessness. Resources include: breakfast, support groups, psychiatry, therapy, case management (including housing) and employment assistance.

Harvest Home

A residential program that serves homeless pregnant women and their babies. All women enter the program while pregnant, and stay on average between 3 to 6 months after the birth of their child. Resources consist of; care for child/children, case management/housing, therapy, classes and connections/referrals.

Westside Family Health Center

Provides family practice, STD testing, female health exams, prenatal care, childbirth classes, insurance enrollment and immunizations.

GriefShare

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

Claris Health

Get free of charge and affordable care in areas of unintended pregnancy, sexual and emotional health, and more.

Harvest Home transforms the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support, and programs that equip women to become great mothers.

LA Dream Center

The Dream Center serves as a resource center focused on providing support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, and the lack of education through residential and community outreach programs.

Heal the Bay

Heal the Bay is an environmental nonprofit established in 1985 that is dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean. We use science, education, community action, and advocacy to fulfill our mission.

As a Chrysalis volunteer, you will work directly with our clients, helping them prepare for, find, and retain employment. By providing job skills training, individualized support, and encouragement, you will empower people to overcome barriers to employment and achieve their personal and professional goals, setting them up to achieve long-term success in the job market.

Safe Place for Youth Volunteers

Safe Place for Youth Volunteers are absolutely essential to SPY’s mission. We’re in need of volunteers at our Access Center, A Bridge Home, and other sites in Venice and Inglewood! Shifts are usually Monday-Friday during regular business hours, with a few weekend opportunities as well.

The People Concern

Volunteers are at the heart of all that we do at The People Concern! Every day, we rely on the generosity of volunteers to effectively serve our community’s most vulnerable residents in myriad ways. Together, we can end human suffering and ensure all of our neighbors are housed, healthy and safe. We are so grateful to our community of over 1,550 volunteers who dedicate thousands of hours to our most vulnerable neighbors! We offer volunteer opportunities at several of our sites pertaining to homelessness, domestic violence and at-risk youth.

Our mission from the start has been to equip and care for individuals and their families, before, during, and after pregnancy and sexual-health choices.
